By BT, 09/01/17, 12:00PM EDT

Dallas Mountaineers at Berwick Bulldogs
Game report

Tonight will be Game 2 for both Dallas and Berwick and both are coming into tonight’s game with 1-0 records.  Dallas had an extremely impressive opening game victory over Coughlin 54-7 and Berwick had a tough game with Hazleton before coming away with a 24-10 victory.

Tonight’s weather at Crispin field should be cool and crisp an ideal setting for tonight’s Crispin Field home opener.  Temperature for opening kickoff is projected to be 63 with a 4 mph breeze and a 0% chance of precipitation throughout the night.  The game should be ending with a temperature of 55 and the same 4 mph breeze.  A large crowd is expected for tonight’s game with live audio being streamed by Jim Doyle and Andy Ulichny.  Metrocast and Doug Farley will also be doing a tape delay of the game for all fans to enjoy tomorrow and Sunday on Metrocast Channel 10.

Last week’s star of the game for Dallas was Lenny Kelly who had 5 TD’s 4 via run and 1 on an INT return.  Dallas had 228 yards on the ground while Berwick held Hazleton to just 51 yards.  Berwick played and impressive run defensive last week but had some issues in the secondary although the key to the Berwick victory were 2 key INT’s one by #7 Teagan Wilk and the other by #8 Evan Klinger the most versatile player for the Berwick team last week.

#2 QB Alex Force played a solid game in his 1st career start and needs to do the same tonight against Dallas.  Berwick needs to generate a little more offense in order to pick up a victory tonight.  It will be a great coaching matchup tonight between 2 good friends and former rival college coaches, Coach Rich Mannello of Dallas and Coach Frank Sheptock of Berwick.  There will be no friendship on the field tonight as this game is huge in determining the success of each team’s season.

It is an evenly matched game with Berwick a slight favorite which could be determined by the advantage of Berwick’s kicking game.  The ultimate deciding factor tonight is disciple, whichever team commits the least amount of turnovers and penalties is likely to prevail as the winner in tonight’s contest
