We are expanding basketball...

As some of you already know we've followed the varsity Lady Dawgs basketball team last year.  This year is no different and we've expanded to offer Boys varsity and freshman teams.  The information on each page will be updated by the assigned director.  We are also very excited to follow Coach Kingery in his debut season as the Boys varsity head coach!  GO DAWGS!

So what do the Dawgs need to enter the District Playoffs?

Basically, it's a toss up out of three teams who will fill in the #4 seed for the district playoffs.  The three teams are Berwick, Coughlin, and Scranton Prep.  Coughlin is sitting a the top with 700 points, Scranton Prep is next with 610, and finally Berwick with 580.  A simple way to put this is Berwick will have to win our next two games (Coughlin, and Hazleton).

A win against couglin will give us at least 160 points, and a win versus Hazleton will give us at least 150 points... giving us at least 890 points (not counting extra bonus points).

Coughlin of course needs to lose to Berwick, and could pick up another 170 points with a win against a very tough Crestwood team.  Which would give them 870 (not counting extra bonus points).

Scranton prep needs to lose to a very tough Delaware Valley team (6-2) or Wallenpaupack which is (7-1).  If they would beat 1 of these teams that would give them at least 180 points... giving them 790 points (not counting extra bonus points).

So without adding in the extra bonus points and Berwick wins the next 2 games, Coughling loses to us, and Scranton Prep drops 1 of their 2 remaining games... The points will be close to:  Berwick:  890, Coughlin:  870, and Scranton Prep:  790.  If the Dawgs can beat both Coughlin and Hazleton, it's a very good possibility we will enter the District Playoffs as the #4 seed!  Go Dawgs and get it done!
