Here are the standings for District 2 football:

CLASS 6A (Four teams make Subregional Playoffs)

The Skinny: Delaware Valley has clinched the No. 1 seed and will host the first round and a possibly District 2/4 subregional championship. Williamsport can clinch the No. 2 seed and a first-round home game with a win this week over Wyoming Area.  Scranton and Hazleton Area will battle for the 3 and 4 spots.

NPF Projection: 4. Hazleton Area at 1. Delaware Valley; 3. Scranton at 2. Williamsport

 

CLASS 5A (All three teams make playoffs)

The Skinny: Wallenpaupack has a tough schedule ahead, but if the Buckhorns win either of the last two games, they will be the No. 1 seed and get a bye in the first round and then host the 5A championship game. Wyoming Valley West can still get the No. 1 seed if it wins out.  Abington Heights will be the No. 3 seed unless it wins both of the remaining games.

The Skinny: Berwick clinches the No. 1 seed with a win in either of its last two games. The 4A title will go through Crispin Field. Dallas earns the No. 2 seed with one win in its last two games. Valley View clinches the No. 3 seed if it wins the last two games. North Pocono, Crestwood and Coughlin all have a chance to end up with a top-four seed and a first-round home game.

The Skinny: Dunmore is the No.1 seed. Carbondale will be the No. 2 seed with a win in one of its last two games. Mid Valley, Susquehanna and Lakeland are all in the mix for the last two spots. Winner of Mid Valley-Susquehanna this week has inside track to No. 3 seed. Riverside is mathematically still alive but but would need to win out and get help.

CLASS 1A (Top 2 teams play for District 2 title)

The Skinny: Old Forge has clinched the No. 1 spot and will host the District 2 Class 1A championship game. If Lackawanna Trail wins both games or one win and a Northwest loss, the Lions will get a rematch with Old Forge in the championship game.
